Guided tours of the Dame Sylvia Crowe-designed Cumberland Basin Area

Sunday 26 January and Sunday 16 February 2020 10.30am–12.30pm GMT

Join local landscape architect Wendy Tippett for a guided tour of the landscape associated with the Cumberland Basin Bridges and Ashton Gate Junction road scheme, designed by Dame Sylvia Crowe.

Eminent landscape architect Dame Sylvia Crowe (1901–1997) designed the landscape setting to the Cumberland Basin Bridges and Ashton Gate Junction road scheme for Bristol Corporation in the 1960s. This area is now part of the ‘Western Harbour’ area currently being considered for re-development. These expert guided walks will look at Dame Sylvia’s design

objectives.

Save the date for the LISW AGM 2020

We have booked a date for our AGM: 6 May 2020 at the Watershed in Bristol (the same venue as last year). We are currently putting together ideas on topics and speakers for the conference with sponsorship from Marshalls. There will also be an after party in the Architecture Centre sponsored and held by Vestre.
